Full Itinerary Humantay Lake from Ollantaytambo
3:00 AM – Hotel Pickup
We’ll pick you up directly from your hotel in Ollantaytambo and begin a scenic 3-hour drive to the village of Mollepata (2,900 m / 9,515 ft).
4:30 AM – Breakfast in Mollepata
Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious local breakfast to fuel up for the adventure ahead. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to Soraypampa (3,850 m / 12,631 ft), the starting point of the hike.
6:00 AM – Begin the Hike to Humantay Lake
We’ll begin our ascent toward Humantay Lake, guided at all times by our experienced tour guide. If needed, you’ll have the option to rent a horse from local residents to assist with the climb.
7:30 AM – During the Hike
As we make our way up, you’ll witness stunning views of the Andean landscape, spot native wildlife and birds, and discover the rich biodiversity of the highlands.
8:30 AM – Arrive at Humantay Lake (4,200 m / 13,779 ft)
Take in the awe-inspiring beauty of Humantay Lake, famous for its brilliant turquoise waters. Here, capture breathtaking photos, and take part in a small coca leaf offering to honor the Apus (mountain spirits) and Pachamama (Mother Earth).
9:30 AM – Begin Descent to Soraypampa
After a relaxing break, we’ll begin the return hike back to Soraypampa, where our private transport will be waiting.
11:00 AM – Lunch in Mollepata
We’ll return to Mollepata for a well-earned lunch and some time to unwind.
2:00 PM – Arrival in Ollantaytambo or Cusco
Finally, we’ll head back to Ollantaytambo or Cusco, arriving at your hotel and end of the Humantay Lake Tour
