Maras, Moray & Chinchero Tour
– 8:00 AM: Your adventure starts with a convenient hotel pickup in Ollantaytambo or Urubamba. Sit back and enjoy a scenic drive through breathtaking mountain landscapes.
– 9:30 AM: (1 hour) – Our first stop is Chinchero, beautifully known as “The Birthplace of the Rainbow.” You will explore a colonial church built right on top of ancient foundations while taking in spectacular snow-capped views. You will also visit a local weaving center to experience authentic textile traditions. Watch local families demonstrate how they use natural dyes and alpaca wool to create their incredible art.
– 11:00 AM: (1 hour) – We continue our drive to Moray, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in Peru. Walk alongside the impressive circular Inca terraces. The Incas built these unique structures to experiment with different crop microclimates, and you will learn all about their brilliant engineering.
– 12: PM: (1 hour) –Next, we head to Maras to view thousands of brilliant white pools carved directly into the mountainside. Local families still harvest the salt mines here using pre-Inca methods. This stunning location offers some of the best views in Peru, making it a perfect spot to capture amazing pictures.
– 13:00 PM: After exploring the valley, you can relax as we begin our transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley or our return journey to Cusco. Expected arrival time is between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
